The Rules

According to the R&A (Rare & Ancient)

The Swine’s guide to golf

You must obey the rules laid down by the Rare & Ancient founder members of the RBGS.

Failure to comply will result in fines, varying depending on mood, location, severity of instance and often, petty vendettas. Contesting is a futile exercise and will be frowned upon, often leading to further fines.

In addition to the rules of golf, the following apply

  • Fair and fast play at all times

  • Sensible gimmes allowed (2ft)

  • PICK UP IF YOU CANNOT SCORE

  • Penalty drop for lost balls

  • Maximum of 3 minutes searching time

  • No faffing on greens

  • No Dragons allowed. Ever.

Pass the Pig

A team format often in play at The Golden Swine Open and Winter Socials, featuring a pink ball per fourball and a shot at a cash prize.

  • Rotation scoring

  • The player in your group with the lowest handicap is the teams scoring player on the first hole.

  • The next lowest handicapper is the scoring player on hole two, and so on, rotating throughout the round. Keeping hold of the pig is vital as he will deliver the scoring player double points unless he is lost to the undergrowth.

  • When lost, you must continue to rotate the scoring but your team can no longer benefit from double points.

  • Take Note! The ‘pig in hand’ double points boost only applies for the team score, and not your personal score.

Take care of your neon swine.

Caress him. Talk to him. Treat him right. Teach him to resist the natural urge to search for truffles in the undergrowth.

Because losing him = no double points.

Happy herding.
